Wool is such a versatile fibre. You could say it's an eco-fibre, with just some of it properties being; it's 100%: natural, biodegradable and renewable. A great explanation can be found here discussing these and several other amazing properties.

The campaign for wool was launched in October 2010. With the aim to educate the world about the benefits of choosing wool, which in turn supports businesses who's existence depend on the wool industry.

There are approximately 90,000 wool producers in the UK alone producing 40 million Kg of wool fleece each year. With British wool week just around the corner what can we do to help promote this amazing fibre?

With loads of ways to get involved, you don't even have to know how to craft with it, although that's proberly the most fun way of getting involved! Head over to The Campaign for Wool website to find out more. John Lewis is even getting involved!

It brings people together in a warm, snuggly, fuzzy way! Yay! And it's good for the environment too. Bonus!

Follow us to find out what we're doing for British Wool week. 14th - 20th October 2013. Maybe we'll have a Picknit.

What will you do to help get the word out?
